| http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mightyno9/mighty-no-9 Lead by Mega Man's co-creator, Keiji Inafune, Mighty No. 9 is a new project to bring back classic Japanese side-scrolling, transformed! (Coming to Steam and potentially consoles if stretch goals are met). The game is being developed by key members of the Classic Mega Man development team, and you! If you donate at least 5 dollars to kickstarter, you're given Backer status. Backers will be given special access to a community forum for Might No. 9 where they can partake in special polls to decide what will be placed into the game. The first poll is going to be the deciding what design Beck's (the main playable character) partner Call will look like. It's been less than a day and it's already passed the half way point for it's donation goal and the concept looks great. A game made for the fans by the fans. This is essentially what Inafune wanted in Mega Man Legends 3, right? |

| So it's Mega Man, but it's not Mega Man.
Seems like a waste of talent to me, we have too many Mega Man games already (Though the fans never admit it). He really needs to sit down, and think of something new to do, unless he just wants the sales from the diehard MM fans. |

And let him do whatever the heck he wants, he's doing this because he loves it. Are you seriously saying that he should stop doing what he loves? Also the last Mega Man game made was December 31, 2012 and that was a Street Fight vs Mega Man game. The last platformer Mega Man game was Mega Man 10 made 2010. In relation to AEM's post, I'm excited for this very much, my first ever game was Mega Man 2 and one that I adore, I plan on putting some money into this, even if it is very little. |

| I was actually joking about how he should be added to the roster in Character Spriter Chat, but man am I hyped for this. Inafune was cheated out of a franchise he helped develop, so it's natural he'd try and make something as close to it as possible. I think I'll be backing the game with about 20 bucks if I can find the cash-o-la, but it's a yes from me. |

If we didn't see Mega Man Universe and Legends 3 get canceled, I would agree with you. But those got canceled and Inafune was literally disappointed because he didn't just fail himself, but the fans too. So he broke out of Capcom so this can exist, because he doesn't want that to ever happen again. |

Not only that, but even the buster appears in Dead Rising. |

| Ignoring my post does not help your argument. I never disagreed with the fact that there are many Mega Man games either, I'm just happy a legit Mega Man-like game is being made by the team that can make it right. |

| A character can never enough games, as long as people want more, in my opinion. Besides, there always is room for inovations, borrowing features from other games of the genre and updating the franchise in general. |

There can never be "enough" megaman games. |

| I'm sorry, but I think that unless you change the formula (Which they haven't here, right down to the big feet) then I personally think it's time to put this franchise to bed. |

Beck transforms when he gains abilities, Mega Man does not. Beck can also acquire new forms when he defeats special enemies. So while the formula is pretty much the same, what did you expect from the team that made Mega Man in the first place? Also why are you suddenly hating* on the Mega Man franchise. After three games being canceled by Capcom in succession and them reaping the credit off of some fangame, you'd expect people to crave something new from the franchise. Which Capcom obviously isn't going to do anytime soon. *Disclaimer: "Hating" might not be the correct term, but you're showing a negative opinion towards the genre this game follows because it's similar to the game it is pretty much based off of. |

| I enjoy Mega Man, I think I proved that by working on him for Crusade, but I just think the series has long had its day, and the formula is just outdated and tired now, much like the New Super Mario Bros series. |
