Discuss the upcoming game here.

The original Cartoon Network Punchtime Explosion was met with mediocre reviews. Hopefully the new additions to the console versions of Punchtime Explosion will grant it better reviews.

The game features eight new playable characters, making the character roster 26.
The newcomers are:

Aku (Samurai Jack)
The Scotsman (Samurai Jack)
Young Ben (Ben 10)
Kevin Levin (Ben 10: Ultimate Alien)
Him (The Powerpuff Girls)
Hoss Delgado (The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy)
Johnny Bravo (Johnny Bravo)
The Toiletnator (Codename: Kids Next Door)

The game will also include new game modes, including online, to increase the replayability of the game.

There is also a bunch more planned, including a shop, possible DLC for the PS3 and XBOX360 versions, and alternate costumes for characters.

The game's release date is set for November 8th in North America.

-----------

My thoughts on the game...

Overall, the new characters are kinda meh, but what can you do when Cartoon Network won't give you certain licenses or creators of characters won't let you use them.

Out of the newcomers, I'm most excited for Hoss, Johnny Bravo, and the Scotsman.

Lack of online is what killed some reviews for the 3DS version, so hopefully this game will be overall better with that new option.

Last but not least, I've heard that the 3DS version was broken as hell, so perhaps this version will be a bit more balanced.

3DS one sucked monstorously.

But with the possibility of DLC and a pretty sweet selection of secondary playable characters (I'M most excited for Him and The Toiletnator), not to mention more stages, Story, and other possible things, This game definately seems worth a buy for fans of the Old Cartoon Network.

I really hope that the creators of Ed Edd n' Eddy and Courage will allow them to be DLC, because that would be the most incredible thing since anything ever.

Also, a lot of other old shows didn't get license problems as far as I know, such as Cow and Chicken and I.M. Weasel.

Lets also not forget, maybe since Captain Planet got in, another really old character can. Like Fred Flintstone or Yogi Bear. (just fantasizing) :p

Lol.

A character I'd like to see would be The Red Guy from Cow and Chicken/I Am Weasel.

That would be, like, the most ackward fight ever.

That would be.
Though Him would probably kick The Red Guy's ass.

True, true.
I like it when fighting games have strange secondary characters playable.

Like Pichu in Melee, or M.O.D.O.K. in MvC3. (both of which were my mains)

The Toiletnator is one of dem guys in this game. Using him fo'sho.

This game is the reason I became The Scotsman.

EDIT: WELP, expect XL to be bagged upon. I can confirm that there is NO ONLINE now.
However, the idea of a sequel (not remake like XL) with online is being considered. (which may include more characters people want).

Glad Johnny Bravo is playable in this version. I was really hoping for Ed, Edd n' Eddy to appear though, as well as Adventure Time and Regular Show characters.

As GY has previously stated,
the creator of the Eds doesn't want them to be used,
and Cartoon Network won't let Regular Show and Adventure Time characters be used because they haven't been in any games of their own yet (or whatever), meaning that they are still new series and they want to be sure to be able to milk as much money out of them as possible.

That is, if I remember correctly.

You remember correctly. In fact the latest series added is Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, but that's because Papaya Studios made other Ben 10 games.

I own the game. It's decent, better than the original 3DS version.

Game tends to freeze and glitch a bit, but other than that, it's the best Smash clone I've played.

1. Don't double post. Use the edit button.
2. DLC has been disconfirmed a long time ago.
3. Courage's creator didn't want Courage in this game for reasons unknown.

Weird cause courage would be a great character to play as, Do you think that Adam and Jake would make it in the DLC?

Maybe Courage's creator didn't want him in because he knew the game wouldn't do so hot? lul

Then that would be a sequel, not DLC.

They'd probably have more content, and possibly a continuation of the story mode.

I honestly don't see too many new series showing their faces next time around, due to the licsensing it took for the 11 shows already and the problems with others (Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, Courage, Adventure Time, Regular Show, etc.)

I do expect some new characters from repped series, however, like Mandark, Schnitzel, and Gwen.

I would personally want some Megas XLR representation, but I doubt it's going to happen...

Oh my dear yes.

Megas XLR is easily one of my favorite western toons ever.
Edit: This game could also seriously use some Space Ghost.

I mean, playable.
Plenty of fighting games have had the announcers as characters. Look at Shao Kahn of Mortal Kombat fame.

Schnitzel would be great in the game. Here's Ideas.
Signatures
Neutral: He throws a Rock at the enemy.
Side: He holds a stick of Baked bread and swings it at the Enemy.
Up: Jumps in the Air and Landing hard on the Ground.
Down: Slams his Arms on the Ground.
PTE: Lifts something heavy such as the 100 Pound Cake and slams it on the ground.
Synergy: Schnitzel teams up with Skips and they do destruction in the range.
Colors
Red Blue Dark (Usually for all characters) and for his costume it would be from that episode that has a parody song of Eye of the Tiger, I think the episode is called Tofu Town.
