Maybe a bit more since Linux is just that awesome.
Actually, since this is a new laptop, I'm running Windows 7. So far, I haven't really needed Ubuntu.

Ha. If a Macbook Pro has 4ghz, I'd be massively surprised. If you're thinking Dual core + 2 ghz for each core = 4 ghz, then you're wrong. Dual helps, but it certainly doesn't double it.

Nice. Here's my specs:
8GB ram
1.86 GHZ quad core. It runs around 2.7-3ish, if I had to take a guess. Maybe more. It says "rated for 4," but I don't trust it.
Pretty good AMD graphics card, can't remember specs. I want to say it has 1-2gb vram and high specs for everything else, but not sure.
64 bit windows 7
etc
I like it, but I'm building a desktop this year (hopefully!) that will outclass it. Running ps3 or 360 games at higher-than-console settings works it a bit hard, haha, and I don't want it to die during college.
