Yes Dust proms are super expensive unfortunately, hopefully its a good prom though. I had fun at mine but some people hated their proms, and thats real unfortunate for something you dump so much money into. So my advice is have a great time, plan good pre-parties and after-activities, and have a heck of a time cause you're certainly paying for it, make it worthwhile. Plus its only going to happen once (for most people).

Also, where I come from we don't have proms except for a couple of 'murica wannabe schools. However we do go to lenghty school trips during the last grade of high school so there are opportunities to hook up there. However I didn't go as I didn't want to spend the money. Nowadays I kinda regret it but not too much.

I bought some toploader card holders to protect my old Pokémon card collection, only to realise the Base Set is only missing seven cards for a full set (I have all holographic cards).

The problem is that now if I want to finish the set the cards are super expensive, with some being $5 per card. A simple Base Set booster over here will also set you back $30.

Seeing "5th Party" existing and being what was formerly "4th Party" with "4th Party" meaning something new and equally arbitrary as before.

I tried putting up a fake christmas tree to find out I was missing the middle piece.

That wouldn't be too bad, but I spent an hour in my wood shop making a stand for it, so it's kinda annoying that it didn't get to go up.
