Subject: SANS Discussion "do you wanna have a bad time?" (undertale) Sat Jun 23, 2018 2:09 pm
HISTORY:The player meets Sans after leaving the Ruins in the Forest of Snowdin, where Sans appears as a silhouette in the shadows that spies and follows the player. After introducing himself to the player he reveals to be a friendly and welcoming character, saying that he has no interest in capturing any human, unlike his brother, Papyrus. He then asks the player to hide from his brother behind a conveniently silhouetted lamp, while he and Papyrus have an explosive discussion about Sans laziness and the importance of riddles. Sans appears in several places along the Forest of Snowdin, usually next to Papyrus, observing and commenting on the riddles he prepares. At the same time, it is not involved in the solving of riddles or making them, with the exception of the "Niñoz Monstruo Letters Soup", which is easily avoidable, showing their genuine disinterest in capturing humans.
After several encounters with him before arriving at Snowdin, his house (which he shares with Papyrus) can be accessed if the player has an appointment or hang out with Papyrus. During this time, the player can interact with various objects in the house where the comic nature of Sans is shown, including a sock with a series of notes showing a passive-aggressive conversation between Sans and Papyrus about picking up the sock at Sans's room . You can also activate an event where Sans plays a trombone to make fun of Papyrus. Later, when Undyne asks Papyrus how they can pay for such a large house in Snowdin, Papyrus replies that Sans is paying for her; when he is questioned more thoroughly about the subject he says it is a mystery.
APPEARANCE:Sans is a skeleton of short stature and large bones, wearing a hooded sweatshirt or a blue jacket, which is unbuttoned at all times, black shorts with a white line at the sides, a white shirt and some white sports shoes according to the illustration of your "Steam Trading Card" (although it can be interpreted as slippers to sleep according to the illustration of the official shirt).
He is always seen with a smile and only moves the corners of his mouth a little. He has white pupils that tend to disappear when he speaks in a serious tone. A bright and intermittent iris of blue and yellow colors appears in his left eye during the battle against him on the Genocidal Route.
PERSONALITY:Sans is shown with a very relaxed personality, sleeping at work or taking breaks frequently.
He enjoys constantly making bad jokes related to skeletons, to the displeasure of his brother, although he acts as a comedian in the MTT Resort, which suggests that he is probably talented with comedy. It is good and comforting in nature, but it becomes sinisterly serious in abrupt moments (particularly when angry).
He is extremely observant, his language and actions are what change the most throughout the game depending on the choices made. He knows how many times he has defeated the player (in the Genocidal Route). Tends to say that he hates making promises.
His laziness seems to be, in fact, a mixture of apathy and fatalism. This is remarkable in the final battle of the genocidal Route. He is insecure if the fact of being aware of the RESETS has broken his spirit, knowing that everything he does will not be worth anything ... or if he only uses it as an excuse to be lazy.
SANS MOVESET:
Specials------------------------------
B- Gaster Blaster- A charge able attack, while Sans stands there with his hands in his pockets, a gaster blaster appears in front of him. By holding the B button, you can charge the attack and aim where it will blast. This powerful blaster reaches across the entire screen, and can deal great DMG depending on how long you charge it. You can charge it up to 6 seconds for the maximum charge, each second makes the beam from the gaster blaster larger and more powerful.
Side B- Bone Launch- Sans raises his left hand, and a row of bones come stabbing upward from the ground. The bones travel forward as they come up, and travel about as far as Samus’ charged shot. These bones deal upward knockback, and deal more DMG on the ground. You can jump over the bones obviously to avoid them however, Sans probably didn’t think of that.
Up B- Bone Leap- Sans’s soul turns blue inside him, as a platform appears above him about as far away as the peak of Bowser’s recovery. His soul pushes him upward, and as he lands on the platform two small bones come flying right by the platform. These bones don’t harm Sans and the platform can be used by anyone, but they do deal 8% DMG to enemies, and a meteor smash effect also. The platform stays in effect for about 2 seconds before disappearing, giving Sans an extra place to jump from.
Down B- Bone Trap- Sans lifts up his left hand and a small square box appears in front of him. If an opponent is caught inside this box, Sans captures them and unleashes his mercy attack. While stuck in the box, Sans summons tons of bones inside the box to quickly do combined DMG to the opponent for a second. This mere 1.5 seconds in the box deals 30% DMG, and can send the opponent flying. Much like Jigglypuff’s down smash however, it can be really difficult to pull off and if you miss Sans will stand there helpless for a few seconds.
Final Smash- Genocide- Sans’ left eye glows blue and he bellows a laugh as everyone is transported to a box right from Undertale. All the characters are turned into hearts with their faces in the middle of them, and they are given a second to move around and get used to the new forms, before Sans is seen saying “Die.” Suddenly, the opponents are all put through a “Bullet Hell” as Undertale calls it, and are bombarded from tons of circling gaster blaster blasts. This attack is devastating, dealing string DMG ranging from 8%-96% DMG depending on how long you stay within the gaster blaster shots, and dealing more knockback once the attack is finished for the more DMG you take from the attack. Though this attack is devastating, there is a pattern. The blasts go in a counter-clockwise motion and if you are quick you can avoid the blasts. However, the more opponents in play the harder it is to avoid the blast due to hearts bumping into eachother. The attack lasts for about 8 seconds.
