So, The Legend of Zelda came out 30 years ago. In all that time, it's never gotten remastered or remade. Mario 1-3 got remastered into 16-bit in Super Mario All-Stars. Metroid got remade in Metroid: Zero Mission. Kirby's Adventure got remade in Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland. The first three generations of Pokemon have been remade. Star Fox got remade (Star Fox 64), then that got remastered (Star Fox 64 3D), then that got reimagined (Star Fox Zero). The point is, Nintendo has, inexplicably, never given the "re-" treatment to the original Zelda. Granted, it's perfectly fantastic as it is, but just think how awesome it would be to see it with lovely new visuals? That's what The Legend of Zelda: Masterpiece Edition is.
This endeavor is seeking to remaster Zelda 1 in it's entirety. You can see for yourself how pleasant the new graphics will be for this. As you can imagine, this isn't a small task. I'm not affiliated in any way with this, but if any of you, or anyone any of you know, is a programmer or chiptune musician that can and would be interested in helping this project, it needs it. This is a really cool thing that deserves to get off the ground.
By the way, I tweeted at DJ Cutman about this project and how it needs someone who makes Zelda music, and while he didn't say anything, he did like the tweet, meaning he's at least aware of it right now. Obviously as far from guaranteed as you can get, but there's a possibility that he's since reached out to the dev of this and potentially offered his help. Meaning whoever joined this could be working on a project that DJ Cutman might end up involved with.
