I, um... Thank you? I'm honored, concerned, confused, and wary all at once. Though I suppose if I'm in the Squall topic I should say something Squall-related, so... Perhaps there could be an additional gameplay element involving the timing of a successful attack using a press of the standard Attack button? For example; land his dash attack, press the button when it hits, additional damage and an explosion. During Rough Divide, press the button for additional hits, Fated Circle for a meteor smash, Blizzard = Blizzaga, etc. Still confused as all hell over the decision making but hey, as long as I'm here I should contribute *something* at least. |

| Actually, I did the exact thing you mentioned (I call it "triggered" damage), although I only applied it on the stronger gunblade attacks. |

Oh, alright. Well at least it was subconsciously agreed upon! ^-^ EDIT: Hey Dust, could I start a Cloud thread? I searched the site but one doesn't actually seem to exist, though I could be wrong. |

Edit: realized I totally misread your comment sorry

And...not Dissidia? Whatever generation you're from is the one I don't like! Naw, just playing. But for reals. Underappreciation comes from all corners of the gaming world. |

| Just gunna throw my 2 cents on this...
Like SP, I've only know him from Kingdom Hearts and Theatrhythm (I tried Dissidia but didn't like it). I do know what his main weapon is, though - it's a gunblade. This means that his attacks should be focused on melding swordplay and gunplay together into one nice string... but wait, there is already a character in the game with the same sort of weapon! Saki!
So my main question now is, what makes Squall unique? I don't care if he is the face of Final Fantasy aside from Cloud... to me, it doesn't seem like he can do anything special. What's wrong with just going with Cloud (not sure what makes Cloud unique either, but I assume Shiruza will enlighten us?), or even another one that would appeal to FF fans (Kain, Warrior of Light, Vivi... or even a villain like Kefka). |

| A villian cannot become playable before the hero becomes playable. Logic. And yeah, Squall does have a gimmick: triggering his gunblade (press a button while Squall attacks with his gunblade for extra gun hits like in Final Fantasy . Also, if the Final Fantasy stage in Crusade was not Planet's Core, but something out of Final Fantasy 4, 5 or 6 instead, then I would have suggested Terra Branford from Final Fantasy 6, because that's the character almost everyone thinks of when talking about SNES Final Fantasy games. So yeah, he is the list of fitting Final Fantasy reps: 1. Terra Branford (FF6) 2. Kain (FF4, although he probably wont be unique) 3. Squall Leonhart (FF8) 4. Cloud Strife (FF7 because FF7HD, but he probably wont be unique) 5. Ugh...Lightning (FF13, and I don't really like her) Everyone else is forgetable or way too fresh or...well, not really a character but simply a class (Black Mage, White Mage, etc). |

| I'll take this down if this is considered off-topic spam, but my Cloud thread is now open if anyone's interested. That's the last I'll say about it. |

| So...uhm...before I make a supporter list, I would like to reiterate: Who's gonna support Squall Leonhart regardless of whenever Cloud is more popular or not? And what else could I tweak to make him more unique (because Squall already has a gimmick unique to him)? |

| No support. If Crusade adds Cloud/Black Mage, then that's really all the FF rep we need. I don't play FF though. |

| While I don't particulary care for Cloud, I really hope Balck Mage (or any other job character) will never be playable in Crusade, because I think protagonists with names deserve the spot more than no-name job characters. |

Don't let your personal bias get in the way of the logical choices. |

| Also, I would like to reiterate my previous questions: Who wants support Squall based on the movelist alone, regardless of the popularity of other Final Fantasy characters? |

Nope. Special Attacks aren't everything, and everything besides them isn't very unique imo. |

| Okay, what makes the other moves not unique? I actually made sure most of the normals make use of Squall's special gimmick. I really need more feedback |

They really are just bland sword swipes. The fire gimmick isn't gonna make him MEGA UNIQUE!!!!. The animations are bland and boring, and as I said, they're all just him lashing out with his sword in various ways. |

| Well, that's sadly something I cannot change, because that gimmick is literally the only thing I could use from for normals. Take the gimmick away, and yes, then they are just sword slashes, but that's only because that pretty much is Squall's only non-magic moves. |

Exactly. So take away the gimmick and he's a swordfighter that uses some magic in a few moves. Boring and bland. Cloud would be much more unique, I think. |

| Not really...I saw Cloud's thread, and while the moveset does sound promising, his gimmick is just a variation of Lucario's aura. And since we want to go the gimmicks route, what gimmicks could such a no-name like Black Mage possibly give? |

And since we want to go the gimmicks route, what gimmicks could such a no-name like Black Mage possibly give? We don't need a gimmick in every character. |

| If we don't need a gimmick, then why does Cloud deserve a spot more than Squall outside of being popular? |

More known, more loved, more iconic, more game appearances, appearing in an upcoming game, from one of the most recognizable if not THE most recognizable games in the franchise (and the protagonist of which!)... |

As in, why does Cloud deserve a spot more than Squall movelist-wise? Limit breaks and having a really, really big sword. Squall has a gunblade, but so does Saki... so I'm not seeing how he is unique at all. |

As in, why does Cloud deserve a spot more than Squall movelist-wise? Why shouldn't the more popular THIRD PARTY character get in? Also, because Cloud has more in his normal attacks then swinging his sword, after re-reading Cloud's moveset. |
