PostSubject: Major/ Minor additions i'd like to see.   Thu Nov 13, 2014 8:06 pm

**Disclaimer** This is my first Topic Post on this forum, and pretty much any forum ever, so if I do something wrong I apologize.

Here's a list of things I think should be added to Super Smash Bros. Crusade to make it a better game. I might leave a lot of things out that I meant to put in so if I remember i'll add them in.

-------------------------MAJOR ADDITIONS---------------------------
- Modes such as:
* Classic Mode (If you guys can't program master hand for whatever reason instead have the final boss be a Rival Battle, like Mario vs. Sonic, Lucario vs. Ryu, Toon Link vs. Ness... Weegee vs. Tingl- no lol jk)
*Break the Targets and Board the Platforms.
*Adventure mode (Same name as Melee's Adventure mode except you don't beat it, you simply explore a vast world with different areas based off different Nintendo franchises and battle video game enemies and encounter other video game characters along the way).

- Unlockable content (Stages, Characters, and Modes).

- I notice that some hazards still appear even when hazards are turned OFF (Cutman's spikes and Tetris blocks namely).

-PLEASE fix the following characters!
*Yoshi: Alot of his moves are nerfed, too many to name specific ones. Trust me I main Yoshi in every Smash game I own and/or played, and this is just the one game I can't do anything in with him...
* Megaman and Pac-man: The reason why I put these two together is because they both could improve in the same way: By making them more like their Smash 3ds/Wii u versions. I understand you added megaman LONG before Smash 4 was was even announced and pac-man before he was announced too, but now that both games are released or about to be and we know their movesets, they both seem in my opinion that they could use at least SOME improvement

-Pretty much every character needs their AI improved, I've won quite a few matches thanks to: Just plain stupid SD's, Falling in Cutman's spike pit and not even trying to get out, failing in the distortion world, walking off flat stages, characters like crash, bomberman and metaknight recovering "too high", etc.

And my last major addition request, OMEGA FORM STAGES. (aka FD stages)
------------------------------------------------------------------

MINOR ADDITIONS (that would be nice to have in the game)
- Showing the song title at the beginning of a match.
- Adjusting how often/rarley a song is played
- Stamina Matches (what happened? They were in the last version!)
- More taunts

Well, thats all I could come up with as I typed this but I hope you liked this is my first ever forum post so please give feedback, let me know what you guys think and feel free to suggest. Thanks! Very Happy
    -TacoWaffle

P.S. does anyone know how to do those face gifs? Like the little yellow faces that move? Thx...

Perfect Hell or whoever is reading this - do we have suggestion board rules? I noticed a lot of things that have already been suggested or otherwise addressed, like classic.

Yoshi is arguably a strong character in this game. I feel he is a bit technical compared to his more recent appearances in SSBB and 3DS though (excluding glitches). We can definitely talk about improving him, but please give him a bit of effort! Some characters are difficult to master in this game.

Developers are actively working on improving AI!

Hrm.... We used to have this in older versions. What happened?

Oh boy first time replying! Very Happy
Anyways... Back to the subject. I don't know about the features of this forum, like how you quoted parts of my post but I'll do my best.

About Yoshi: I've spent days trying to master him. I only won 4 times because of SD's. I noticed that outside of glitches some of his moves have less range or do less damage. Also his flutter kick is nerfed, which is yoshi's most important ability for recovery. Also the egg thing with his yoshi bomb make this move worst, because the eggs are slower than the stars in the original game. So if you DO change yoshi, I'd recommend basing him off his 3ds/Wii u style, since that's his best version.

About AI:THANKS! Smile

About Song Titles: Yeah I noticed that the test demo or the full release of 0.9 but they were in the previous version. I just want to bring it back because I always thought it was cool seeing the name of your custom music you put in :\
Thanks for repying! By the way what do u think of the rest of it? Does any of it appeal to you?

I found it interesting you mentioned Master Hand, since he has been in the older versions of the game. Believe me, if it's possible, we can program it. Break the Targets and Board the Platforms were also in the old game and will most likely return.

Adventure Mode on the other hand is a huge undertaking, but personally I'd love to see it.

Stamina Matches are in the new game, just a bit confusing (I thought they were gone too at first). You have to do the individual character settings to turn on stamina. It might be weird but allows you to have some characters stamina and some not... Which I guess is interesting...?

More taunts is a good idea, but it does complicate controls a bit.

What do you mean about Yoshi Bomb's eggs? As far as I know they're identical to the stars, the only thing that changed about them was their sprites.

Yoshi has a couple of other tricks that he gained over the console titles. PH did the latest balancing changes on him so he'll know best, but for example Egg Roll leaps forward quite a bit, and if you connect with it, you can jump cancel and combo into any aerial. Egg Lay has a lot more duration than before, and actually makes a decent retreating spacer.

Falcon has pretty much addressed everything else, so that's all I have to say.

On yoshi;
He's basically a blend of Melee/Project: M without some of the stupid janky things P:M did but also buffed like crazy. Every move he has is better than his console variants, be it in kill power or combo potential. He also can now get his second jump back if he gets hit out of it in the air, greatly improving his ability to recover against edgeguards. His Egg Roll can be cancelled immediately with the B button or jump cancelled on hit, making it generally an awesome tool. Egg Lay is pretty good for getting some free damage, but not being stupid and killing people off the sides of the stage. Down B is pretty strong/fast and the eggs cover a lot of space. We didn't change anything about the stars when we changed them to eggs other than the visuals, but it's possible that our stars were bad in the first place.
The last thing Yoshi needs is buffs, other than possibly range. I do admit that certain attacks of his have poor range, such as Dsmash iirc, but that's due to sprites. Giving Yoshi more range on attacks would not be a simple task, but it could probably be possible. Yoshi is easily one of the strongest characters in the game right now though, so im not too crazy about the idea of giving him even more buffs.

His Fsmash range is a total joke. Other than that, Yoshi feels amazing. His egg toss is almost scarily controllable.

PH, could you care to explain what you mean by "stupid janky things"? I really liked P:M Yoshi and was wondering what you didn't like about him.

+1. Also DSmash could use a small buff.

While you guys are on the topic of Yoshi, am i the only one who thinks he needs a re-sprite? Also i'd like to hear your thoughts on the rest of the post, because I REALLY want to know! Y'know, being my first post and all... Wink

Actually falcon8r, im responsible for the current aiming system on egg toss.

@Hype
You've never played against Raptor then, the best P:M Yoshi player.  He's a friend of mine and sometimes doubles partner, and let me assure you Yoshi is jank.
- His down B first hit always combos into the second hit and comes out incredibly fast, and the second hit kills.  Combine this with crouch cancelling and every time you hit Yoshi you get punished hard just for hitting him.  Yoshi also has a great weight for crouch cancelling and that system as a whole is better in PM than Melee
- Yoshi's side B in PM is overpowered.  Safe on shield, combos into anything, the cancel out of it is basically instant.  He can also lead this into some really scary shield pressure, and knocking him out of the roll can be surprisingly difficult.  Accidentally ive made the crusade Side B almost like this as well, except the PM version is even more broken than ours
- Lives till ungodly percents all the time
- Range, kill power, combos are all on par or better than pretty much everyone else in the cast
- Running grab is insanely good and so is his Dthrow.  GG
- Edge cancelled eggs, once he's on the edge your only option is basically to run to the other side of the stage and wait for him to stop

At least he's not Mewtwo.

I dunno, maybe you nerfed down B since then, but last time I looked at the current Crusade down B this sounds exactly like it. It's not nearly as potent because of a lack of crouch cancelling, and therefore no way to make up for its terrible range, but it's still an 8-frame move with insane kill power.

KEY difference. Kill power may need a nerf anyway, there's a lot of overlooked moves with that problem. But without crouch cancelling, the move is worlds apart.

In this game, there is no such thing as "always". Smile The problem is that small characters like Kirby and Gooey can avoid the second hit if it hits really deep (as in Yoshi's right on top of them) or while dropping through a platform. But that's kind of a nitpick.

How exactly does the super armor work this time? Does he retain it even if he DJCs into the ground?

Uh, Gooey isnt in P:M. You quoted a post about P:M.

Yoshi's armor is in effect any time he is in his midair jump animation, and if he's not it ends within a frame. So no he cant retain it on landing, nor through aerial attacks.

Ah, I couldn't tell whether we were still talking about Crusade or not.

That sounds fine. I just wanted to clarify because I swear I've seen him armor through and jab me before.

**Just a friendly reminder**

While Yoshi is one of the biggest characters I want to see changed in the future he's not the only reason I posted this! I also would like some feedback on the rest of this post (being my first and all).

**Note** I have improved with Yoshi over the last few days, and  starting to kind of like his new feel Smile However theres some things about him that still bother me! scratch  More on that in Yoshi's page in the character disscusion section if you want to continue: "The Great Yoshi Debate". (dun dun duuun!) Facepalm

Welcome to the forum TacoWaffle. As for your suggestions, here are my opinions.

- Classic Mode, Break The Targets, & Board The Platforms were featured in previous demos, but not in 0.9.0. This is due to time constraint since it had to be recoded cause of the engine changes. They will most likely receive a revamp in future updates.

- Adventure Mode has been suggested, but nothing official. I personally would like to see one similar to Melee. Though I enjoyed the Brawl cutscenes.

- Unlockables is plan in the future as well. There just wasn't enough time to make it for 0.9.0.

I'll comment more another time, its rather late here. lol.
