Sakurai Gyped us with Robin, but he's not off the hook just because of that Gozack's Final Smash. His chance will come today! #TeribithiaGodDamnit

Let's get this ball rolling with my suggestion: Copypaste Ike's moveset onto him, if Lucina can get away with imitating her ancestor's moveset then Chrom can certainly adapt Ike's Style into his Own.

Do you mean Priam?

Also you should probably look at the stickied rules thread here before someone flips out at you. Your Monita thread is ok, the other ones not so much.

Monita wasn't this guy's thread actually, it was Sarger001 or something.  I dont think this guy has made a single acceptable thread yet, despite now hosting half of this board's OPs.
EDIT
His original idea character threads were semi passable in that they at least posted moveset concepts and design ideas. Except those weren't allowed and the movesets were just ripoffs of the rest of the cast, and seemingly without much though since a guy with a broadsword was doing Samus Fair and Usmash. Exploding broadsword or something? What even.

Chrom fights nothing like Ike though. That's the thing. Chrom isn't flailing a two handed sword around like a hulk-man.

Ike doesn't do that in his home game, though. He's actually pretty fast and has a projectile! More similar to Chrom than his smash counterpart, anyways.

Well now don't I feel dumb. The only two Fire Emblems I've really not played are Radiant Dawn and PoR. OOPS. THANKS SMASH FOR MAKING ME LOOK DUMB.

Are you ever going to bother making a proper OP? By any chance?

If you're drawing a parallel between Marth/Lucina and Ike, you're probably thinking of Priam. Chrom is not descended from Ike.

Huh, I guess we might need to ruffle up the moveset a bit.

The best I can do is to Ditch Aether because Viridi said he wouldn't be able to pull it off and incorporate Sol and Luna

sorry, but nothing wrong with clones, but when you say that but do it anyways it hurts me.
I'd be fine with Chrom, he's a neat character but there's not much more that you can do with him.

What's hilarious is that Pit is in the background.

As if to make sure we're all thinking the same thing.

Yea but he doesn't have an Aether recovery like Ike, either.

Chrom is the butt of all jokes in Smash 4. lol.

As for Chrom in Crusade, I have yet to see an interesting move set. I would rather see Robin or a Fire Emblem villain come in before him to be honest.

Moveset ahoy!

Standard B: Similar to Marth and Lucina, Chrom can use Thrust, a non-chargeable piercing move that has decent reach.

Up B: Chrom uses Ascending Sword to recover from a nasty fall. Chrom leaps up into the air with a spiraling screw attack with his sword.

Side B: Chrom can also use Blade Gale, a move that propels him forward while he unleashes a combo of slashes and stabs, this can also be used to recover.

Down B: With Ground Blade, Chrom slices at the ground and unleashes a shockwave forward, this move being his only projectile.

When Chrom gets a Smash Ball, he can unleash the Blade Storm. Chrom points his sword to the sky as a shining light emits from the tip. Large swords made of mystical energy fall from the guy, piercing the stage, and deal massive damage on contact with a player.

This sounds Sakurai'd to the core.

My issue with all that is literally how it makes no sense at all. Ike or Marth weren't Sakurai'd to that point. It just seems so outlandish for Chrom. When I think of Chrom, I do not think of him doing anything like that. And his side special doesn't make him seem like an advanced sword user. Swinging your sword with slashes and stabs of all things... just makes you look like you have no idea how to use a sword. And instead of making his N.Special the same as Marths, just un-chargeable... why not do something different? Like an attack you can charge, and you release and Chrom jumps forwards with a downward slash? Like one of his attack animations?

Just out of curiosity, have you played Fire Emblem: Awakening? x_x

Pretty sure Marth and Ike were Sakurai'd that much. Marth was just a generic sword user in Melee, nothing special. The tip might have been a reference to his animations in the original Fire Emblem that had him stab opponents, but it's weird that none of his attacks until Brawl even had a stab forwards - his neutral special in Melee actually belonged to Roy! Ike wasn't nearly as slow in his origin game - he was actually extremely fast in his swordplay, though he is less Sakurai'd than Marth (since Aether is his signature move).

Though honestly, even after playing Awakening, Chrom just wasn't that memorable... sure, he was the lord, but what was even special about his sword slashes? He was functionally identical to Lucina, and look how she turned out to be. The only way we can really go is inbetween Marth and Ike somehow... which just gets us someone like Link.
So... even though I like Fire Emblem, I can't support Chrom until he gets a unique playstyle. Robin and Anna are much better options.

Marth Shield Breaker was a bad reference to the Rapier, although they sort of saved themselves in Brawl by giving it a more Rapier-like appearance. Counter is a reference to the FE mechanic. Dolphin Slash is a reference to one of his Falchion animations. Ike's Quick Draw is his Ranger killing crit animation. Aether is obvious. Counter is again the FE mechanic. Ike also references stuff with ftilt, fair and uair. They're terrible movesets, but they're by no means Sakurai'd.

Careful with the "extremely fast" thing. Everyone likes to point out that Ike is not nearly as slow as in Brawl, which is true, but he's not stellar fast either. 30% growth in RD, very difficult to cap without items.

The key to making Chrom more viable I guess is just to differentiate him as much as possible from Ike. Say if we shifted around some movesets so that Ike emphasised his axes, and Chrom emphasised lances, for example.

I don't remember ever seeing Dolphin Slash before, but ok, fine. Ike was fast in PoR (55 growth rate as opposed to 35), which his original design was based on.

I don't like the idea of Ike using axes... we should have Hector if we want an axe user. Same with Chrom and lances, using Ephraim. What else can differentiate Chrom? Class changing? Making him more ally-based (with Sumia helping for recovery, etc)?

The Dolphin Slash I'm visualising is from the very first FE. Maybe that's its only appearance, which would explain its obscurity. Ike was fast, yeah, but I'm more just worried about people imagining some Nabarl-type character when really Ike is far more balanced. And yeah, I don't like either of those ideas either, but hey, just playing devil's advocate and suggesting any and all possibilities for Chrom.
