Don't replace the face of a franchise with a new one just for the sake of recency. I've run into this stupid fiasco more than once.
For example, PSASBR 2 (rhetorical) having both Good and Evil Cole replaced with Delsin Rowe. Sure, Delsin is a great icon for Second Son and the progression of the series, but it isn't simply nostalgia that people agree that Cole is more dynamic and well renowned. The same sorta goes with Steve. Who knows anything about Jesse.
And if you want me to be totally serious, I'm not as hyped about story mode as I once was. I was hoping it would be the cinematification of Steve's resource gathering, construction, and survival, but oh no, we need to get another dose of drull Telltale storytelling. The trailer makes it look like all their other games, and this is coming from a fan of their previous works.

The idea of this "Jesse" being the rep because he's on Wii U is frankly, dumb. There can be a coulour based on him, like Alex, but taking this new guy over the most iconic character in MC? Yeah not really feeling it.

While I originally said that he should replace Steve, I get it now, it's not happening.
I'm now talking about the "smart" palette idea, so people can make alternate skins for Steve due to the simplicity of Minecraft's sprites, one possibility being Jesse. What do people think of that idea; of the "smart" palettes?

That's technically an alt costume, which isn't a thing in Cruasdae
But that's only because of the way sprites work. Using the smart palette system, that'd be dealt with easily; you can just change the colour of an individual sprite, meaning you could have any number of skins.
