Knuckles: New down special attack

Knuckles down special attack in crusade is a bit weird, but you could add this new one wich i call "The ground shark" from Sonic Battle!

It could work just like in that game. First Knuckles pushes himself to the ground, then he will be able to move while he is underground, then the player press the special attack button again and he gets out doing a smashing punch upwards (If the player stays too long underground Knuckles will go out automatically). Here i made a example just in case you didnt get it:

If nothing can hit Knuckles while being underground, i would have to say no, it will be abused to avoid ANY kind of damage

The only way i think it could be changed, is that Knuckles can only move a very short distance, has little time, and the punch itself, while does good knockback, Is slow

I was going to suggest this a long time ago, but i thought about a version in the air, keeping the rock move on the ground.
If Knuckles sucesfully hits someone, the player would be buried in the ground, then Knuckles would come out and do a powerful punch. In the case it didn't hit anyone, Knuckles would get out quickly like in Sonic Adventure 2 when he can't find a treasure, and the punch would be less powerful.

Knuckles' current down special shows off his incredible strength, not to mention, it's a really good move for spacing if not abused.

It also works pretty well for edgeguarding, specially if JUST the first hit connects, since it's knockback is great

You might be right, the player should have very little amount of time underground so it is more fair for his oponents.A part from that and the things you said it might be no problem.

Then, how about these characteristics for the special move?
- Aerial down special;
- No limits to the distance, but the time is limited (just not too little) and he can move at only half of the running speed;
- It can be interrupted before he goes underground;
- The underground attack can be blocked with the shield;
- Leaves him open for punishment if he misses or is blocked;
- Any attacks that travel along or hit the ground can still damage him, maybe even slightly increased damage, but won't do any knockback;

I don't think it would be broken if it worked like this. It just depends on the time he stays underground.

I prefer knuckles Rock throw its just to Stronk. I find Knuckles to be one of the strongest characters in the game he is teh reason for my undefeated status

I actually like this idea; Knuckles pulling a rock from out of nowhere when in the air has always irked me a bit. Sort of like if DK's Hand Slap worked the same on the ground as in the air; what would he be slapping?

Huh. I suppose not.

In that case, what harm would be done in adding some versatility to the moveset with this addition? And while we're add it, why not add the double slap to DK's Aerial D-Spec as a little added bonus?
