I will laugh extremely hard if SSB3DS actually comes out before the 0.9 demo... -v-'"
hopefully it comes out before then
Agreed. But even if it doesn't I'm really glad the development team outdid itself that much graphically. The screenshots provided are wonderful and I think I speak for everyone who was followed this game for at least a year (most people here) when I say that I am delighted to see game be go up a level.
But lets say if the demo were to release after October 3rd (not saying it will or won't). Should SSB4 3DS be a good reason to not play Crusade or even SSF2 anymore?
If Crusade was a complete duplicate in all areas of the official title, then I can understand. But keep in mind that fan games like Crusade & SSF2, while they do have the gameplay of the official titles, are entities of their own with features you can't get in the official games like SSB4.
By deciding to never play Crusade/SSF2 ever gain cause SSB4 is out, you are simply limiting your variety of games that follow the free-for-all genre we grew up on.
Lets face it, we didn't pick up Crusade or SSF2 as a placeholder until SSB4 is out. We picked it out and played it cause they featured things you will never get in the official game. You will never get the likes of garbage characters like Goku & Weegee. You will never get your large class of 3rd parties, none the less the crapton of Sonic characters people seem to have a fetish for.
The benefits of fangames over the official titles is that once the latter is out, other than some potential DLC, you won't get anything new out of it till next gen console. While fangames will always feature new updates that won't even cost you a dime. It will only cost your some patience and space on your hardware, which is very minor.
I say all this because I noticed a lot of people are believing that Crusade 0.9. needs to be out by October 3rd when it necessarily doesn't have to be that way. Sure, there might be more attention to the official title than there will be for the fangames for quite sometime. But eventually, those official titles end up being beaten and finish with potentially nothing else new to offer. Which eventually, fans will come back for more Crusade & SSF2 cause we will always have more to offer under a short period of time compared to waiting a whole gen for something new. Any local fan of our games know that these fangames have their own flavor and identity that not even the offical titles can keep up with. So in the end, abandoning Crusade or SSF2 is simply robbing yourself of your variety of choices as a Smash fan.
Anyways, this is getting way off-topic. We should keep our focus on the Pilotwings stage itself if we tend to post on this topic.
I-I meant no offense, good sir, I was simply using that as a comparison that I was sure others would relate to (the relation being the mainstream series)... ^_^'" I am quite excited for the release of 0.9, and do not plan to abandon it. Please do not misunderstand my intentions, as well as the intentions of others; We are all loyal fans, and though we may have our gripes we gripe in over-anticipation of the newcoming game! ^_^
Though you are right, of course, in that we should stay on-topic. Though considering the fact that we've already brought up the amazing background animation, sprite quality, and expectations, I do not see how we are to continue this conversation... :/
Perhaps... discussion of content that was within the video, but not necessarily the Pilotwings stage itself? For example; thoughts on Ridley/Meta Knight/Klonoa now that they're in action, any possible changes to Tails that we may have spot, etc.
