Black Mage

The black mage is the greatest character of all time, please add him. I have a tattoo of the black mage, I hope that shows how serious I am.

I would recommend giving some actual reasons as to why he should be in, rather than, 'He's really cool'. What can he do? Why is he "The greatest character of all time?"

But thats all there is. Hes just...really cool.

Not but in all seriousness he has a lot of potential as a character.

First of all he is a caster, something not often seen in smash. So it would just naturally be a good/diverse addition. He also can have a lot of diversity in his moveset, including the use of his staff to perform melee attacks with his tilts.

His special moves would be really cool to think about. Lots of choices here. I think an obvious choice for one move would be haste, used to give himself and any teammates a speed/lag boost or something. Haste was his most useful spell in the original game. Obviously teleport/time stop for other specials. Possibly a fireball as an offense special.

Aerials would be the hardest to come up with I think. In general the Dark Mage is just a really interesting and mysterious character, with a lot of tools at his disposal, and I think all of those things make him a shoe in for a smash game.

Also, hes really freaking cool.

Black Mage does have a change to get into the Suggestion Poll. However, it will have to be done over on the Candidate Cut Poll. Since Chocobo is our only Final Fantasy rep, we can have a Final Fantasy character either replace Chocobo or get in as a 2nd rep. So far, the proposal has not been done for this series ever since Chocobo replaced Kefka on the poll months back.

Also, the tattoo is less about the character and more about a bunch of other stuff. Lots of meaning.

Well, because FF has a character on our official roster, only one suggestion poll slot is allowed to the series. Chocobo already takes that slot, so you'll have to start a poll to replace the Chocobo with Black Mage.

My point is major newcomers to SSF2 like BM and Lloyd would make it seem as if Crusade was copying SSF2.

Then if Black Mage is being implmented into Crusade in some way, his moveset would have to be different from SSF2's. But honestly, does it really matter? The SSF2 community gets butt hurt over the smallest inconveniences.

Just because SSF2 has him doesn't mean we can't. They have Megaman we have Megaman, they have Bomberman we have Bomberman, just because we use the same character doesn't mean we're stealing the character from another fangame when neither of the games actually own the characters in the first place. I would say it'd be cool to have Black Mage in Crusade.

^ there's my point. Goku isn't exactly logical but it's another example of characters we share and how there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. He has the better example with bomberman

Plus, we had Bomberman and Megaman first. (I think we also had Goku first)

Mega Man is an obvious choice, still.

Bomberman? Fair enough. But sharing TOO MANY characters still seems like it's copying to me.

Which is why I think Black Mage and Lloyd should stay away.

As far as Final Fantasy goes, I think Warrior of Light and Chocobo would both be more fun.

It´s not like we´re copying SSF2.

I mean, they don´t own Black Mage (and we certainly don´t own him too), and even if he gets to be Crusade, he´ll have a diferent moveset, so, what´s the problem?
