Tag Mode from "TMNT: Smash Up"

Has anybody ever played "TMNT: Smash Up"? It's an ok game.............It had a mode where 2 characters can team up under 1 "Slot" and fight against the other team....

You could tag out anytime you wanted, still maintain a 1on1 styled match with teams if you so desired..............And Most notably there were also Double Team Moves that you could do if you grabbed the opponent (EDIT: shown @1:42 in the provided youtube gameplay video above)


Thought it would be a nice mode to suggest since the game was similiar and there wasn't a mode present like this in regular smash.


If you wanna make it more unique then you can take this concept and allow it to have 4 players out at the same time (Like a regular 4 player match except it's really 2vs2vs2vs2 or 4vs4 if 2 slots are teamed up together)


I noticed that there was a similiar suggestion somewhere but that one worked on a "Team Battle" mode basis seen in some games like Tekken or X-men: Next Dimension....this is differenyt


I completely understand if it'd be too much........I'm just putting it out there so that you can have more ideas to explore.......This is actually one of the new modes I wanted to suggest for the new smash game coming out.....I really hope Sakurai puts in some type of new mode this time

We already have that. It's called Team Battle. It's prevalent in all Smash games.

No I think he's talking about something like you can pick several characters for each stock, kinda like Subspace emissary that when you die you change into the other character present, it's a cool idea actually, but I'm not sure still.

No, No you misunderstood..............it is in the form of tagging in and out while maintaining a 1on1 fighting perspective for those who desire it or have the ability to play an 8 player team match without exceeding the game's normal Slot capacity or fighting area space.........Whatever possibilities this brings to the table

look at this gameplay video (The only one I could find of the mode unfortunately so unless you played the game then you may mistake what i'm saying for the traditional team mode already in smash bros.)

Notice how there are actually 4 characters in this match with only 2 SLOTs and 2 CHARACTERS OUT AT ONCE............Also notice how they keep switching at will or the partner spawns when the Active character dies.................And @1:42 of the video you can also see a "Double Team" move performed on a grabbed opponent with the team of two characters

He's basically talking about a mode that works like Tekken Tag. Pretty straightforward, but i doubt it would ever happen. Closest thing we ever might get to that is the already suggested mode that works the way Dr. CanadianBacon just described.
