What program to swap palettes with

I want to help with the palette swapping, but I don't like using paint to edit mine any other professional programs to swap with?

Do you know the trick of recolouring using the eraser? If you do then pallette swapping on MS Paint is a breeze.

Paintdropper tool, left-click the colour you want to change, right-click the colour you want. After that go to the eraser and hold the right-mouse and rub it over the sprite. The colour you want should instantly replace the colour you wanted changing.

Is this trick different for paint on windows 7? I have tried it exactly like that several times for my own projects and it never works.

I use Windows 7, same thing works. However it is pretty buggy. It doesn't work sometimes on sprites that have been modified, so try copying and pasting the sprite back on the sheet, then do it.

If you want an actual program that can change palettes, iirc the program irfanview can do something in the regard. I've only used it for indexing sprites to put them in pokemon hacks, but I think that it is possible to edit colors on the palette so that all the colors on the sprite are changed automatically.

Color > Hue-Saturation...
Find color you want to change. Change color by Hue. You may need to change multiple colors.
