The Definitive Smash Bros. Roster Empty
PostSubject: The Definitive Smash Bros. Roster   The Definitive Smash Bros. Roster EmptySun Sep 18, 2016 11:05 am

Made this awhile ago, just sharing this now. If this was the roster for the next Smash game I think everyone would be completely satisfied.
I also decided to add all the assist trophies, and unlockable slots and all that. (You'll see what I mean)

The Definitive Smash Bros. Roster Smash_10
*Roster without any unlocked characters*

The Definitive Smash Bros. Roster Smash_11
*Roster with lock icons*

The Definitive Smash Bros. Roster Smash_12
*Roster with everything unlocked*

The Definitive Smash Bros. Roster Smash_13
*All assist trophies*

TOTALS
45 Characters in the Starting Roster (47 Counting all Miis)
49 Unlockable Characters
94 Total Characters (96 Counting all Miis)
91 Assist Trophies

Tell me what you guys think about the roster, if you have any questions, or suggestions to improve it.
(Yes, I know 96 characters is a lot.)

I'll go through characters I am either pleased with or against (new ones that are not mentioned are ones I have no opinion with)

Dr. Mario: Melee fans are going to hate me, but I think he should be removed
Paper Mario: He is really the only other "Mario" that would be a great edition
Dixie Kong & King K Rool: Nice to see someone that isn't choosing between those two...
Cranky Kong: ...but I think 3 newcomers for the DK series is too much
Young Link: We have seen some nifty movesets for Young Link, but Toon Link is more-or-less his successor...
Toon Zelda: I don't think we need an even floater Zelda "clone"...
Tetra: But Tetra would be a nice way to add some unique additions from the "Toon" section
Lucina: Needs decloneing to be accepted
Pichu: I love the little buddy (favorite Pokemon), but we don't really need it back
Wolf: Never understood why he wasn't brought back as DLC, let alone removed in the first place
Dark Pit: Unless he gets significantly decloned, no
All Pikmin Characters (minus Olimar): Considering the series, Olimar is fine by his own. Alph may work as an additional character, but look at my thoughs of clones
Elma: Need more Info (Don't know who this is)
Shantae: One of 2 Purple Haired Pipsqueaks I would love to use in Smash (where's Lilac? Sad )
Ice Climbers: Why you do this 3DS? Sad
Inkling: Would be a nice "New" edition

All in all, I am pretty fine with this, though a total of 11 characters would be cut from me.

Thanks for the feedback, one thing I forgot to mention was that one of my goals for this roster would be to not cut any characters at all, including Pichu. I pretty much included Cranky Kong for the fact that he could play like the original 80s Donkey Kong (Throwing barrels and all that jazz) or bouncing on his cane like Scrooge McDuck. But yes, Dark Pit and Lucina would receive massive decloning using movesets based on their respective series.
(Different weapons from Kid Icarus, other skills from Awakening, etc.)

Ok. That would explain Pichu, Young Link, and the missing Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon (Ivysaur and Squirtle)

I do remember seeing a modified version of Project M (3.0?) that had Lucina in it. She was vastly different in it, but I don't know if I could find it again

Professor Layton's not on there worst roster ever

Kidding, it is pretty good, with inclusions like Sora, and Banjo I'm sold.

I believe Smash Bros. Legacy XP has Lucina in it.
