Maybe we can bring this back?

Sorry if I shouldn't have made a new topic, I'm new and I've never been part of a forum community before. ^^;

Anyways, I always liked the way the characters appear and do something at the bottom when you choose someone back in the original Smash Bros.

If you didn't understand it, let me explain:
Let's say, while you're playing Super Smash Bros, you want to play as Link. You move your player cursor over him and he appears in the player selection box at the bottom. Then, when he's chosen, he swings his sword a few times then stands there waiting for the match to start.

That's what I'm talking about. Sorry if my example is lengthy, I tend to over-explain things. ^^;

We got many many complaints about copying SSF2, and they're already doing that, so I don't really think we should.

Not that I don't like the idea though.

Our AI is better. So much better. At least ours can at times be smart, SSF2 AI make me want to cry

Level 9 SSF2 AI literally stands there and does nothing sometimes. And when they're not doing that they're commiting suicide.

SSF2 makes grown men cry for bad reason. Crusade is a real man's game

SSF2 isn't a bad game. It's actually a good one aswell

Just crusade packs alot more content inside and has AI that takes more than just strength to outsmart. So can we please stop comparing the two and stop hating on SSF2?

Each one is probably taking a different approach.

And regarding the suggestion: it's in no way of copying SSF2 at all since of the fact that it was introduced in SSB64. Idk why our people constantly think that if we do something like this, they'll think crusade is borrowing ideas from SSF2.

Seriously: stop using SSF2 as a reference to what content you will add and what content you won't add. They didn't made crusade as a competitor to SSF2 but in overall as a smash brothers fan game that smash brothers fan can enjoy.

No one is bashing the game as a whole (well, maybe mistress is), we said they have bad AI. Can you deny that?

But otherwise you are right, i support the idea. Saying that is copying SSF2 would be like saying the use of Battlefield is copying.

Actually, I find SSF2 to be pretty fun. The AI is just crappy and I hate how they focus on adding anime characters instead of veterans, and this is coming from someone who enjoys anime.

I wouldn't mind the selection animation. I'd say keep the CSS portraits while having the selected character do their taunt.

What about really big characters like Ridley and Porky?

They wouldn't be able to even fit into the box, and would end up leaking off, covering some of the select screen.
With the way things are currently set, it would not work and still look good.

Can't the character's size be adjusted to fit in the boxes?

Merc that would look really stupid.

Ridley/Porky being sized down like that would look sloppy and unprofessional. Especially since they're supposed to be huge.

Well if little flashy animations are a no-go, how about character voices that call out upon selection like in Brawl if you used a wii-mote...

Not that I used it O.o

Not everyone here plays competitively on the console games. But that's not a bad idea either.
