discuss the widdly diddly super hard rock-n-roll side of the musical spectrum here

Myself, I'm mainly into progressive stuff, ex. Opeth, Nevermore, Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, Emperor

Anyone else?

Love Maiden and Megadeth. Rust in Peace and Powerslave are brilliant albums.
I can only fathom pre-90s Metallica, on the contrary...

Death Magnetic was alright. The Day That Never Comes was great, but I also liked the thrid Unforgiven, it wasn't quite as good as the first two but it worked.

Opeth's Blackwater Park is easily my favorite metal album of all time

Their latest album, Heritage, isn't too bad either

I love many types of metal, but my favorite are heavy/thrash and prog. Three favorite bands: Metallica, SOAD, Tool.

I'm a pretty big Tool fan myself.

Ever hear of Katatonia, a similar band? I have their album "Night is the New Day", really neat stuff.

I just discovered this, maybe you knew about it too: The Holy Gift by Tool, it's a rearangement of the Lateralus album that unlocks a new sound and interpretation of the album as a whole. I found it very interesting.
